I like that old time Rock and Roll...

Photobucket

As I was cooking dinner Sunday night, James slides into the kitchen wearing this ensemble, had me laughing pretty hard. He's only missing the socks.

He and I have spent A LOT of time together lately. Matt has been so busy with school the last week, we've barely seen him. So much so that to say its only been a week is crazy to me. Feels more like a month...and its only going to get crazier. I basically wont see my husband on a consistent basis until 2 weeks before the baby is due.

Starting Memorial Day, Matt will be gone for 5 days, then he'll be home for 9, then gone for 9, then home for 4, and gone for another 5, home for 3, gone for 3, home for 3, gone for 4, home for 3 then gone for 4, THEN finally home. Exactly 2 weeks before baby is due.

So if anyone knows of things to do with a 2 year old in cache valley...let me know. I have a feeling we're going to get bored.
Maybe my house will get really really clean this summer lol.

29 Weeks on Friday

Last night I went through all of James' old clothes and organized them. Oh my goodness there were a lot of clothes! Luckily I had them all mostly organized, so it was just a matter of switching the boxes they were in, and getting rid of any stained clothes. Going through all his newborn outfits finally gave me that feeling I've been waiting for. Excitement. I don't know if its because I've had a baby before, or if I'm scared to get excited because of my miscarriage. The truth is, until last night, I didn't get that excited feeling. Yes I've been happy that another bundle of joy is joining our family, but I never felt that feeling of glee.
Last night when I was folding each individual piece of clothing, remembering how adorable James looked it each one, I was excited. I'm excited to hold this brand new baby boy. I'm excited for the new baby smell. I'm excited for everything. Yes even waking up in the middle of the night.

I'm also excited to have my dreams return to normal.
Last time, I was reading those Twilight books, and wow did I have weird dreams. This time around I'm not reading anything, so instead I'm dreaming about real life people in the weirdest ways. The other night I dreamt that my brother Ben was drinking my Moroccan Oil hair product and it was dripping down his chin...gross. Last night I dreamt that this girl I know called me to ask if I could cover her shift at the beauty supply store...I quickly woke myself up from that one. I'm very much enjoying my SAHM status and the thought of having to work 9-6 for even one day stressed me out. lol

Other than contractions last week, my pregnancy is going well. Thing 2 is moving all the time, and I've gained about 6 lbs. Not much else to report, which is a good thing :)

A tad bit small

My mom bought this cute little outfit for #2
James loves to look at it, he "ooohs" and "ahhhs" and says "Look WOW!" as he touches the crabs, whales and sharks.
Yesterday he insisted I put it on him...

Catching Up Part 3 : Busy Weekend

Mothers Day Weekend was another busy one for us.

Friday was Matt's Graduation Day, YAY!
Technically he could have walked in both the Graduate and Undergraduate ceremonies, but he chose to only walk for his MBA. Thank goodness, I don't think my prego body could have sat through another ceremony.

I couldn't be more proud of Matt that day. He worked so hard to get to where he is now. A Bachelor of Arts in History Summa Cum Laude and an MBA all in 4 years!

Matt has one more month of classes to go before he's officially done. On top of that he has 6 weeks of training in Phoenix for his new job that will over lap his classes for two weeks. Its going to be crazy for a bit around here, then when Matt is done with training we'll be counting down the days 'til this baby boy arrives!

Friday night we drove up to Idaho Falls so we could get a head start on things that needed to be done Saturday. Matt helped out at his parents house with various things here and there, and I helped prepare for Ben's homecoming at my parents house. Ben requested Chinese, so I helped my mom prepare ingredients that would be cooked Sunday. Saturday was also my sister Mady's Prom, so I helped with hair and makeup for that. Isn't she gorgeous?

Sunday morning was hectic.
At nine I went to my parents ward to listen to Ben's homecoming talk, which was awesome :)
Then as soon as Ben said amen I rushed back over to the in-laws to catch Matt's brother Tim on Skype. Tim is serving an LDS mission in the Birmingham England mission. He's doing great and seemed really happy! As soon as we hung up with Tim; Matt, James and I went over to my parents house. First was my cousin's son's baby blessing. Then it was time to Skype with my brother Zac who is serving a mission in Riverside California. It was awesome to see his face while we talked to him. I miss that kid, he cracks me up.

The rest of the week was full of more family time, and James and I coming home with bad colds
:(
Now its time to resume real life. Decide whether or not to stay in this apartment. Get more organized to make room for Baby...and all the other "To Do"s here and there. I wont bore you with those, so instead, here are more cute pictures!

Catching Up Part 2: Tests and a Job

Until this past week, I'd hardly seen my husband for about a month or so. He's been studying for finals, as well as two insurance exams. Why the insurance? Well, he's been a candidate for a job as an Insurance Agent in Training with American Family Insurance, and to get the job, needed to pass those two tests.

The weekend before my brother came home Matt took the first test and passed. While Matt was in the test James and I went to the Hoggle Zoo.

During the last test James and I went to the Aquarium in Sandy, it was small but just enough for a two year old and his waddling mama.

We went to SLC again the next day for Matt's interview with the State Director for Matt's final interview, and James and I played at the park.

James had a great time, especially when other kids showed up to the park.
He stayed at the top of the big slide for a long time before he finally went down on his own.
Such a fun little guy.

The next day Matt received the official job offer and we're so excited!
This means we'll be in Logan for another 13-24 months, then we'll end up somewhere between SLC area and Idaho Falls.
Its such a great feeling to know Matt has a job right out of school and we've got things somewhat figured out lol.

Catching up Part 1: Ben's Homecoming

Thats right, my little brother Ben is now home from his mission to New York where he taught the gospel in Mandarin.
His plane was set to arrive at 2:57, so we spent the morning making cheesy posters, hanging up a "Welcome Home" sign and even put up a marquee at the local gas station.
We got to the airport about half an hour early so we could be there before he did, and even waited in the car for a bit before going in. As we walked up my Dad said "Oh that must be his plane!" and half my family went off to see it land. My Mom, Madeline, James and I went inside....and there he was...waiting for us lol. Caroline ran after my Dad and Will to tell them forget the plane, its the wrong one lol. So much for our corny signs....

After we dropped off Ben's luggage we went to dinner at a Chinese buffet....and learned that Ben picked up some.... interesting.... eating habits from the chinese in New York.

You know all the questionable items at Chinese Buffets...well he ate all those. Even the shrimp that had everything but the heads...then just spit out all the shell and legs and stuff on the plate... I stopped watching him eat after that.

After dinner Ben was released by the stake president, it was pretty cool.
It's great to have Ben back and we're all excited to see what happens next for him.
