Tooosday

I did not want to get out of bed today.
James has been sleeping in until around 10 or 11am the last few days, and today I thought, sleeping in would be so nice.
But tuesdays mean institute and I knew I needed a little spiritual uplift today. So I got up.
As I was getting ready to go I put on Toy Story 3 for James, his new favorite movie that we watch at least once a day and I have nearly memoized. I knew it would be an emotional day day when I began to tear up as Woody, Jessie, Buzz and the rest of the gang held hands  as they awaited their fiery end. I'd been in a funk the last few days, and today all of the built up emotions were going to come out.

Lucky for my husband he's in school 12 hours today.

So I regained my composure and we left for institute. Today we disscussed two of President Monson's talks, the first "Charity Never Faileth" one of my new favorites, and "The Divine Gift of Gratitude". As I shared a thought in class I started to bawl, which I dont think I've done in a looong time. Maybe on day I'll share that thought on here, but today I just couldn't get it out right a second time. So besides me crying. institute was great.

After class, I couldn't find my keys, but then I found them and all was well.

Next we went to the bank drive up window and it was so windy two of my checks flew right out of my hands! So I quickly got out of the car to chase them down, and thankfully the ground was wet from our rain/hail/snow stormy weather this morning that the checks didnt make it all the way to the mall. Another disaster avoided.

The rest of my errands were mostly uneventful which is good. I dont know if I could handle any more excitment for the day.

Now I will post pictures etc so you wont leave being entirely bored

Here is James dipping Chocolate Chip Cookies into milk, it keep him busy while I work on my sewing projects

Speaking of which, here is one, a cord wrapper thingy as I like to call it
I'll post my other projects later

James making horse noises

We've got a horse pasture behind our carport and James love to watch the horses. Here's a video of him making "horse noises".
Enjoy!

Goodbye October Hello November

We've been keeping busy at the Morrissey house,
enjoying the beautiful Logan fall weather and scenery, keeping up with school, jobs,
and enjoying every little moment with our little guy.

At the begining of the month I had my sister take family pictures which turned out pretty great, plus you cant beat $free.99

Thanks Mady!

We had a hail storm one day, James was fascinated by it and just sat at the sliding glass door watching

James played Peek-A-Boo with the curtains

and always tries to get into my seat instead of his car seat.

He had lots of fun at his cousin Ivy's 1st birthday party
(pictures to come, having issues at the moment)

and wasn't so sure about the gunk from carving pumpkins.
We carved little red riding hood and the big bad wolf, but they both broke in the night :(

We dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf and the Woodsman

Looking forward to a great November, keep an eye out for the projects I'm working on.

Sunday naps are the best

Usually our Sundays consist of Matt and I trading James on and off between classes so at least one of us can get something from church. Every other Sunday I play piano for Relief Society and leave James with Matt, then join the two of them in Sunday school. This week when I got to Sunday school I saw Matt, but not my little guy...So I ask Matt, "Where's the boy?" and he tells me "He's in Nursery"

GASP you mean we get to go to two whole uninterrupted meetings?!

It seemed too good to be true.

So before class started we went to check on James, you know, make sure he isn't being a beasty. When we walked in he was busy driving a school bus around like it was Toad's Wild Ride and could care less if we were even there. We then returned to class and were able to sit and listen, holding hands not having to worry about all the lesson manuals being pulled from the cupboards or James stealing other children's toys. I won't lie, its a weird feeling.

That feeling left as soon as we picked up James and went into the chapel for sacrament meeting, we lasted through the sacrament and then I took James out before his tantrum got any worse. He yelled out in the foyer because I have decided not to let him down so he doesn't think he can just scream to get his way out of the chapel.  The yelling was no problem, but when he saw our neighbors leave to take their Little guy home, James just lost it and the screaming began. Matt heard the screaming, grabbed our things and dropped us off at home so he could be back for a meeting. Of course as soon as we got in the car James was fine, but what do you do?

Well I know what I do, I get James and myself some lunch, and then we go take a 3 hour nap :)

So although we may not hear another sacrament talk for a while, at least we're able to have the first 2 hours. Thank you nursery!

Anyway its time to start dinner, so enjoy this clip of Grover, its hilarious!

Mothers Institute

The past little while I've been attending an Institute class for mothers, and it has been great! We meet tuesdays at 11am, and go over general conference talks. The kids play in the back of the room with nursery toys and us moms are able to have adult interactions. I've really enjoyed our little tuesday class.

This week however....

Our tuesday class was canceled and we were invited to join the wednesday class.

Oh.

My.

Gosh.

I could not hear a thing! This class had way more people, and older, louder children. The poor lady behind me probably felt so uncomfortable as I looked back to make sure my child was still alive every 30 seconds.  A few of the girls from my tuesday group left, and towards the end I was wishing I had too. I'm not saying the lesson wasn't good, it was great, but there was just too much chaos to enjoy it.

Oh, and did I mention I was called Dani the entire time? Pretty sure that's not my name, and I dont think there is even a Dani in our usual class. I was sitting next to another sister from my ward, and when we sat down our instructor said "Oh good you're here! I was worried about you two!" ...confused looks at each other.... " Have you talked to Heidi?" .."Nope" ....I dont even know who Heidi is...either do I...

Whatever, Elizabeth, Dani, its all the same right? Its only the wednesday class that will think my name is Dani.

Then towards the end, James came up to me and sat on my lap, and a wednesday sister asked "Is he yours?"
"Yep, he's mine"
"I think he's got a girl friend, he's been following my daughter around the whole time"
fake chuckle..."Ohhhh well he likes little girls"
"How old is he?"
"18 months"
"Oh! She's barely two!"
"Oh, cool"

And the conversation ended there, with me thinking...

heck to the no! My child does not and will not have a girl friend for many many years!

I know some people think its cute when little kids have "boy friends" or "girl friends" but I dont think it is so cute. I want my boys to think girls have cooties for a long long time.

So after this woman tried to pimp out her daughter to my son, she proceeded to grab him in her arms after class and give him a big ol' kiss on his head!!

What the heck?!

Who kisses stranger's children?!

Well after this weird awkward class I am vowing never ever to go to a wednesday class again. We will stick with our tuesdays where James can play with trucks and other boys and where there aren't any other mothers trying to set up my son with their daughter. Also I can actually hear and participate in the lesson, which is why I'm going in the first place.

2 am-ish

It's about 1:30 in the morning and I'm still up.
Yesterday?(Friday) was a great day, I woke up, went for my walk with James, went about my usual daily to do list, laundry etc. Then watched the Utah State v BYU game while Matt went up to Romney with his parents. (James was grumpy so we decided against bringing him that time) Utah State won, which was wonderful because I'd have a happy husband all weekend. Those of you married to sports fanatics know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyway I thought it was a great start to a great weekend.

Today or yesterday as I guess it would technically be now didn't start off so great. I was exhausted and didn't want to get up, so I overslept and missed most of the morning session of general conference. How am I able to sleep in that late? Well my child was up till the wee hours of the night because we went out to dinner after the game which made him hyper because he loves to see his Aunt Katie and Grandma and Grandpa Morrissey. Anyway, nothing really awful happened today, I was just exhausted and James was being uber sensitive all day, crying hysterically. When he cries like that I can't hear a thing so there went the afternoon session.

After crying for what seemed an eternity, he fell asleep, and didn't get up until 8:30...yep I blew it. I should have woken him up, but I was just enjoying the peace. He's back asleep again, as he should be for goodness sake it's 1:40, and now I can't get myself to climb up those stairs and crawl into bed because then it will be tomorrow and we'll have to do it all over again!

Poor little guy has been sick off and on all week, and I know its all because of those darn molars coming down. When I was pregnant I would read about babies born with teeth and I thought,"How awful!" now I'm thinking that's the way everyone should be born!

So here's to hoping tomorrow will be better.

Ps if you're wondering why I'm so tired....no I'm not pregnant.
