Kiera's Baby Shower

Disclaimer: Ignore the dates on my pictures, James likes to mess it up.

A few weeks ago my friend Karen and I threw a surprise baby shower for our friend and co-worker Kiera who's due with twins, a boy and a girl, any day now!
She didn't have a clue!
We invited all the ladies from the salon to join us, and it was lots of fun. None of us are very frilly froo froo kind of gals so we kept it very low key and relaxed.
Our menu consisted of Sliders, Prosciutto Asparagus Spirals
 and Fruit Salad.

For Dessert I made some yummy Black and White Run Cupcakes, with a

Butter Rum Frosting
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 TBSP Rum OR 2 TSP Rum Extract + 4 TSP milk
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
to make the footprints I just added enough cocoa powder to my taste preference and piped the little feet, yes it was tedious , but mmm they were good!

We kept it simple with only one game, which was a hit! Thanks Mindee!

All in all we had a great time! Can't wait to meet those little ones Kiera!

My little Man

Loves his Daddy
Likes to eat Chocolate Cake, and then smear it EVERYWHERE!

Just so he can get in the tub

He loves to take up most of the bed, leaving mommy and daddy on the edges
He loves water, and helps mommy water the lawn

What a cutie huh?

Felt Tissue Holders courtesy of Martha Stewart
"Perfect as a favor for guests who are busy wiping runny noses when not attending showers. These felt cases hold travel packs and can be attached to a stroller or car seat with double-sided mounting tabs. To make one, cut a 6 3/4-by-5 7/8-inch rectangle from felt, fold short ends in to meet at center, and pin. Sew sides shut with a 1/2-inch seam allowance, and trim with scallop or pinking shears; adhere mounting tab to back side."

I am totally going to make these!

Independence Day Weekend

In a last minutes decision we went up to Idaho Falls for the fourth.

Saturday we went to an Idaho Falls Chuckars / Ogden Raptors game.
We cheered for the Raptors since they are the Dogders farm team. Woo Go Dodgers!
Grandpa and Grandma Morrissey were there, as well as Mike and Shawna with 5 of their 7 cute kids in tow.

James mostly walked up and down the row, flirting with girls in front of him and stealing his cousins' snacks.

James wasn't a huge fan of the big ones we did, but he sat with his uncle Zac during those so all was well.
Um, not much else to report. So enjoy the pictures!
